Phillip Kahl 🇩🇪
Phillip pursued his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the University of Cologne, Germany, in physics, where he specialized himself on astro- and molecular physics. Afterwards, he shifted his area of interest to atmospheric physics and chemistry and started his PhD at the Research Centre Jülich. There, he joined the DACStorE project to assess the global impact of amine-based Direct Air Capture, a novel carbon dioxide removal technology, on air quality and human health with global simulations with the software MESSy. To improve his simulations, Phillip is joining the NBD group at UBC to carry out chamber experiments with the Vocus (PTR-TOF-MS). His research stay is funded by a DAAD grant. Besides the research work, Phillip is looking forward to exploring Vancouver, British Columbia and the Canadian culture.
